You just never know where a good friendship and a backyard BBQ will lead you.  For Martino and his good friend, now brother-in-law, it led to the opening of La Strada 10 years ago!

     The two friends became acquainted through their work in higher-end Italian restaurants in North Beach, San Francisco. 

     Several restaurants and promotions later, they still kept in touch through the years. Then one relaxing afternoon, things changed. 

     Midway through a casual backyard BBQ, the two future partners went for a quick beer run.  That's when they eyed a vacated corner restaurant for rent.  They looked at eachother, both remembering their long-time dream of owning their own restaurant.  Was this their golden opportunity?  Were they ready?  Could they afford it?  At least they had to check it out.

     Things fell into place fast.  Any initial hesitation quickly resolved into focus, hard work, determination and a genuine love of serving others exceptional Italian food in a friendly family atmosphere.

    And you know what?  They have been doing something right for 10 full years now.

     The proof is in the number of returning customers, many of whom have enjoyed La Strada with friends and family since the very beginning!
